07 Apr Care Revolution Is Now Probari
Care Revolution, a health care startup based on a highly successful $30 million Medicare project, is changing its corporate name to Probari (www.probarisystems.com).
“Probari is Latin for ‘proven’. Our care model has a proven track record of success and we are excited to embrace this name reflecting our strong evidence base,” says Dr. Kathleen Unroe, CEO and founder of Probari. The Probari team utilizes proprietary software to implement the OPTIMISTIC care model, developed and tested through a CMS demonstration project by a team of researchers at Indiana University, Regenstrief Institute and the University of Indianapolis. This model has been shown to be effective in reducing avoidable hospital transfers from nursing homes by 1/3.
“Market shifts towards value-based care are leading nursing home providers to explore new payment arrangements with Medicare in order to fund better patient care programs and get paid for better quality delivery. We have a proven model that improves the overall care at the facility and reduces costs associated with transfers to the hospital,” says Unroe.
The team at Probari has also announced that David Barker will serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing Dr. Unroe who continues to serve as CEO of Probari and a Board member. Mr. Barker brings over 30 years of healthcare and managed care experience as the CEO Emeritus at SIHO as well as time as a CEO with United Healthcare. “Dave’s knowledge of the managed care space coupled with his experience as a successful CEO make him a great fit to lead the Board. We are fortunate to have such a seasoned executive join the management team,” says Dr. Gary Anderson, founding Board Member.Download Full Press Release
