Fitting EBP into Standard Practice

Recent changes to the CMS regulations have occurred requiring the use of Enhanced Barrier Precautions (EBP) in nursing homes for residents that meet specific criteria. This new rule was implemented to minimize the transmission of Multiple Drug Resistant Organisms (MDRO) in nursing homes and builds upon the foundation of the first tier infection control, Standard Precautions.
